Faculty of General Medicine – OIMU

The Faculty of General Medicine at Osh International Medical University was established in 2021 and students are trained in the specialty of general medicine in 5-6 year training programs. Training is provided in English for 5-year form of training for foreign students with 12 years of secondary education, and in Russian for 6-year form of training on the basis of 11 years of secondary education.

Students of OIMU have industrial practice and training on clinical disciplines in various governmental and private medical preventive establishments of Osh city and Osh region, as well as in the countries of near and far abroad according to available agreements and memorandums. By teaching patient care, modern methods of diagnosis, professional communication, the faculty trains highly qualified, competitive doctors.

At the moment, the Faculty of General Medicine has one Department of “Natural Science Disciplines”. Employees of the department are engaged in research work and combine practical work in medical preventive institutions with teaching at the university, which increases the effectiveness of medical and educational services with the improvement of their quality.

The main task of the department is qualitative education of medical workers, innovative scientific activity and implementation of its results in practical health care and education, formation of high morality of students.
