Mentorship is the key to success
An experienced teacher-mentor is assigned to every young faculty member in the NS Department. The objectives of mentors are to help young teachers adapt to the conditions of pedagogical activity, to give them the opportunity to reveal their professional qualities, creative abilities. In order to achieve these goals, mentors of the department carry out the following activities: arrange individual consultations, hold lessons for young teachers, get acquainted with the experience of other teachers, visit and analyze their classes together with a young teacher, attend classes of a young teacher, analyze their classes, get acquainted with new methodological literature. The mentoring system benefits both sides: young teachers are enriched with pedagogical experience and the teacher-mentor’s qualification and professional skills are increased.
